Detailed Report

Nima Girls Arts College, Gozaria is a reputable higher education institute for the education of girls in the nearby rural region with a view to disseminating educational awareness among the girls of villages.   During the academic year of 2006-07 in the institute, Collegiate Women’s Development Cell was established in order to develop awareness regarding the laws for ladies’ safety. The CWD Cell also aims at disseminating awareness regarding the holistic development of women.

Ms. Shilpaben Chavda addressed the gathering including eighty-four (84) students on the subject of “Vyaktitva na Manovaignanik   Aayamo” on February 20, 2016. During the period of November 02 to 07, 2016 a programme under the title of Life-skill Education Camp was arranged by the Brahma Kumari Seva Kendra in collaboration with the Ministry of youth affairs, Government of India.

During the year the students were shown a film on August 06, 2016 regarding the development of awareness regarding defeating the disastrous disease of Cancer, which has affected many people recently in many nearby regions. Apart from the general discussion on Cancer in the speech, the girls were informed of the possible types of cancer found in women. Most of the girls showed their willingness to disseminate this awareness among the middle-aged women in their neighbourhood, who are found to be the most possible victims of this calamitous disease.

A four-day beauty workshop was arranged from February 20 to 23, 2017. During this workshop the organizing institution “SHAKTIMANCH” taught the various aspects associated with beauty such as Bridal Make Up (H.D.), different types of hair-cuttings, different hair-styles and sari-styles, Mahendi Facial, Fruit Facial, Home-made Facial, Eye-brow, Homemade Hair Treatment, Homemade Face Treatment, Beauty tips, Steps of Garba and Mahendi. An expert beautician taught the girls the above-mentioned task to the college students, who came with the note-book and pen only. All the required materials was provided by the organizing institution “SHAKTIMANCH”.

During the year under the aegis of CWDC Shree Mayankbhai Upadhyay delivered an insightful lecture on Women Empowerment under the title: “Aapne ane Aapni Vato”. During the lecture the girl-students felt mesmerized by the delineation of the aspects associated with the life of ladies by a male representative. Shree Upadhyay revealed the gems of his readings about the plight of women in the typical patriarchal society of India in the past. Although he admitted that the situation has been different for the last two decades, yet he felt that women have still not attained the status that they are worthy of.

During the year under the aegis of CWDC the total number of four programmes were conducted in spite of the college being hectically busy in celebrating the Ashta-dashabdi samaroh initiated by the statutory body Shree Gozaria Kelavani Mandal. As part of the first of the initiatives a programme on Empowerment & Personality Development was conducted by Zankhnaben Trivedi, in which eighty-six students participated and they expressed that they surely felt empowered after attending the programme. They were also told to disseminate the very message of the programme among the ladies nearby their residences in their villages.     As the second initiative of the year Thalassemia Awareness Lecture was delivered by Shree Nileshbhai Bharatiya in the presence of 103 students. Shree Bharatiya emphasized the necessity of the Thalassemia Detection Test by stating that it is as significant as the horoscope before marriage. He urged the girls to get their Thalassemia Detection Test done in order to have their future generations free from hazardous physical weakness born from Thalassemia. As the third programme of the CED Cell on February 15, 2019 a Women Awareness Programme was conducted, in which the entire staff discussed about the ways of developing multi-sided awareness among ladies and told them to spread the message among women nearby their residences.
